Strong Schools. Strong Communities
Students First
Every decision should begin with the question: How does this support students?
That includes academic success, social and emotional well-being, and creating learning environments where students feel safe, supported, and challenged.
Supporting and Retaining Educators
Strong schools depend on strong educators. While the board does not manage classrooms, it does set conditions that affect recruitment, retention, and morale. I believe in respecting educator expertise, listening to staff perspectives, and supporting sustainable working conditions.
Responsible and Transparent Budgeting
Budgets reflect values. I support clear priorities, long-range planning, and transparency with the community about how resources are used. Fiscal responsibility and student-centered decision-making are not opposites — they go hand in hand.
Serving on the school board means keeping students at the center while making thoughtful, responsible decisions for the long-term health of our district. These are the priorities I would bring to my work on the board for WUSD.
Thoughtful Governance
The role of the school board is governance, not micromanagement. That means setting clear direction, asking good questions, partnering with administration, and holding ourselves accountable for outcomes. Well-run meetings, clear policies, and respectful collaboration matter.
Community Partnership
Public schools don’t exist in isolation. I believe in strong relationships with families, community organizations, and local partners to support students and strengthen trust between the district and the community.
Planning for the Future
WUSD, like many districts, is navigating declining enrollment and increasing student needs. I believe in proactive, data-informed planning that looks beyond the next year and focuses on long-term sustainability for students, staff, and the community.
